Hawkes Law is Vanuatu's longest established internationally connected accounting firm, having commenced business in 1970. Originally the firm was known as Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co, then KPMG, and since 1 October 2002 as an independent firm with a correspondent relationship with KPMG.
The firm's name also changed to Hawkes Law, after the names of the, then two resident partners of the firm in Vanuatu. Hawkes Law now has three principals.
The firm was the first of the "Big 8" accounting firms to establish a place of business in Vanuatu, and is now the only correspondent firm of the remaining "Big 4" accountants in Vanuatu.
