Who we are
Hawkes Law is Vanuatu's longest established internationally connected firm of accountants, auditors and business advisors, having commenced business in 1970.
Originally the firm was known as Peat Marwick Mitchell and Co., then KPMG and has been operating as Hawkes Law, an independent firm since 2002. The firm takes its name from the, then two resident partners of the firm in Vanuatu.
Hawkes Law has three principals: Jonathan Law - Senior Partner, Cheryl Ling - Partner, Audit and Accounting and Vicki Joe - Director, Corporate and Offshore Services.
We provide a full range of services to local and international clients. Our professionals (we have staff fluent in English, French and Bislama) can assist with any or all of the following:
- arrange the formation of a local company or acquisition of a shelf company, and ongoing provision of registered office and corporate secretarial services;
- arrange the formation of a Vanuatu international company, and / or trust;
- if you are looking to conduct business in Vanuatu, advice and assistance with applications for
- local bank accounts;
- foreign investment approval (VIPA);
- business and other licences;
- residency permits and work permits for non-citizen employees;
- and liaise with various authorities and agencies on these and many other matters;
- establishment of accounting systems and procedures - we have Vanuatu's only resident certified MYOB and Retail Manager consultant;
- provide ongoing accounting assistance including preparation of VAT returns and payroll processing etc;
- act as auditors;
- assist with the formation and licensing of banking and insurance companies;
